Terms of Agreement

Using RateMyCat

• You may browse approved cat photos, rate photos, read blog posts, and use public pages without creating an account.
• Some features, including blog posting, comments, likes, and future Meowspace account features, may require sign-in.
• You agree not to interfere with the service, bypass rate limits, submit automated traffic, exploit bugs, or attempt unauthorized access.

Accounts

• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure.
• Usernames must not impersonate another person, infringe rights, or contain abusive, misleading, or unlawful content.
• We may refuse, rename, suspend, or remove accounts that violate these terms or create risk for the service.

Uploaded Content

• Only upload cat photos, blog images, posts, comments, and other content that you have the right to share.
• Do not upload private, illegal, abusive, hateful, sexual, violent, harassing, spam, malware, or rights-infringing content.
• Do not upload images that expose personal information unless you have permission from every person affected.
• Submitted cat photos and blog posts may require moderator approval before appearing publicly.

Content License

• You keep ownership of content you submit.
• By submitting content, you grant RateMyCat a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, resize, display, distribute, and promote that content in connection with the service.
• This license lets the app show your uploads, generate previews, serve images through providers, and operate rating, blog, and sharing features.

Ratings and Community Activity

• Ratings are intended to be fair community feedback. We may use IP checks, local storage, rate limits, and database constraints to reduce duplicate or abusive activity.
• We may remove or adjust ratings, posts, comments, likes, uploads, or accounts if we believe they are abusive, fraudulent, or harmful to the service.
• Public scores, counts, rankings, and post metrics may change as content is reviewed, removed, or recalculated.

Third-Party Services

• RateMyCat may rely on third-party services for hosting, analytics, speed insights, authentication, OAuth, image storage, database storage, advertising, and content delivery.
• Your use of those integrated features may also be subject to the third party's own terms and privacy policies.
• Meowspace support is planned as a separate account provider and may be governed by additional terms when released.

Availability

• The service is provided as available. Features may change, break, pause, or be removed without notice.
• We do not promise that uploads, ratings, posts, comments, accounts, analytics, ads, or third-party integrations will always be available or error-free.

No Warranties

• RateMyCat is provided without warranties of any kind, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the extent permitted by law.
• You use the service at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

• To the extent permitted by law, RateMyCat and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or exemplary damages.
• This includes damages related to lost data, unavailable features, moderation decisions, third-party services, unauthorized account access, or user-submitted content.

Changes to These Terms

• We may update these terms as the app changes. Continued use of RateMyCat after an update means you accept the updated terms.
